When asked what comes to mind when someone says "Donkey", most would say an animal or... well... something else. But, in Athens, people think of a great coffee shop. They offer an assortment of coffees from cafe lattes to dark roast coffee to an abundance of chia tea concoctions. For those who may not enjoy coffee, they offer hot chocolate and smoothies.
Do not confuse The Donkey with Starbucks because it is far from it. The Donkey has an at home feel which is brought about by the local music and cozy seating. The Donkey does not feel like a massive coffee chain. The customer knows that the coffee they are drinking is someone's small coffee shop dream.

The Donkey is the perfect study area. It's filled with couches, tables, and chairs that are perfect for cramming. Upstairs, they offer more seating for those who want a bit of quiet. My personal favorite is the outside seating. It's informal and a perfect place to meet with friends or even meet new people.
The employees there are some of the kindest baristas I have met. They do not look at you like a crazy person if you ask about their coffee. They are more than happy to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. They seem to have a deep understanding of their customer and how to make every customers experience a great one.
The Donkey is definitely a coffee shop I would recommend to OU students. It's reasonably priced and offers some of the best coffee. So if you ever have a coffee craving, make the trek to The Donkey. I promise it will be worth it.
